چکیده

Aims: Our objectives were first to evaluate the possibility for using NUV absorption as diagnostics of hydrated minerals based on recent datasets primitive asteroids and carbonaceous chondrites, second investigate reflectance spectrophotometry in functions heliocentric distance size. Methods: The visible more than 9,000 was investigated two spectrophotometric surveys, Eight Color Asteroid Survey (ECAS) Sloan Digital Sky (SDSS), which cover wavelengths down 0.32 um 0.36 um, respectively. We classified from main asteroid belt, Cybele Hilda zones, Jupiter Trojans Tholen's taxonomy described statistical distribution types. also examined relationship NUV, 0.7 2.7 absorptions among hydrous chondrites CI CM. Results: found strong correlations between OH-band (2.7 um) meteorites, suggesting can be indicative silicates. Moreover, there is a great difference large (diameter d > 50 km) small (d < 10 taxonomic distribution. differs inner belt middle-outer belt. Notably, C types are dominating members through F beyond consist mostly P D types, although common everywhere peculiar might indicate different formation reservoir or displacement process early Solar System.

Understanding the distribution of near-earth asteroids

We have deduced the orbital and size distributions of the near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) by (i) numerically integrating NEAs from their source regions to their observed orbits, (ii) estimating the observational biases and size distribution associated with asteroids on those orbits, and (iii) creating a model population that can be fit to the known NEAs. We predict that there are approximately 900 ...

The Albedo Distribution of near Earth Asteroids

The cryogenic Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) mission in 2010 was extremely sensitive to asteroids and not biased against detecting dark objects. The albedos of 428 near Earth asteroids (NEAs) observed by WISEduring its fully cryogenic mission can be fit quite well by a threeparameter function that is the sum of two Rayleigh distributions. The Rayleigh distribution is zero for nega...

On the Eccentricity Distribution of Exoplanets from Radial Velocity Surveys

We investigate the estimation of orbital parameters by least-χ2 Keplerian fits to radial velocity (RV) data using synthetic data sets. We find that while the fitted period is fairly accurate, the best-fit eccentricity and Mp sin i are systematically biased upward from the true values for low signal-to-noise ratio K/σ . 3 and moderate number of observations Nobs . 60, leading to a suppression of...

Jovian Atmosphere: Near-Ultraviolet Absorption

Greenspan and Owen (1), in a stimulating discussion of the Jovian atmosphere, have reconsidered Stecher's (2) rocket ultraviolet spectroscopy of Jupiter. They conclude that, while the general reflectivity between 2000 and 3000 A can be matched by some 12 km-atm of H2 and a small surface reflectivity, there still exist two significant absorption features in this wavelength range. This residual a...
